The Hocus Pocus film series follows the comedic and spooky adventures of the Sanderson sisters—Winifred, Sarah, and Mary—three wicked 17th-century witches who are accidentally resurrected in Salem, Massachusetts, by teenagers lighting the mythical Black Flame Candle on Halloween night. In the 1993 original movie, the sisters are brought back after 300 years and spend the night chasing a teen named Max, his little sister, and an immortal black cat in a frantic quest to drain the town's children of their youth before sunrise. Decades later in the 2022 sequel, the witches return once more after two high school students unwittingly light a new candle, forcing a new generation of teens to stop the trio from casting an all-powerful spell before they ultimately vanish for good.
