The Godfather: The Complete Epic 1901–1959 adds roughly 45 minutes of deleted and extended footage that was left out of the original theatrical cuts of the first two films. Splicing The Godfather and The Godfather: Part II into a single, chronological narrative, this version expands on Vito Corleone’s early life in Sicily and New York, showing more of his rise to power and his tracking down of Don Ciccio. It also features crucial footage revealing the ultimate fate of Fabrizio, the bodyguard who betrayed Michael in Sicily and planted the car bomb that killed Apollonia. Additionally, viewers get extra dialogue between Vito and Michael after his return from Italy, alongside several smaller vignettes that flesh out the childhoods of Sonny, Connie, and Tom Hagen.
